JJ Preedy
Based in Nottingham, JJ Preedy is a fashion photographer and Senior Photographer at Noemi James Management, known for his distinctive approach to visual storytelling and fashion imagery. Currently studying Fashion Photography at Nottingham Trent University, JJ has developed a photographic style that combines strong creative concepts with an instinctive understanding of people, fashion and emotion.
At the heart of JJ’s work is storytelling. He approaches photography as more than simply creating a visually strong image, instead using colour, composition, styling and atmosphere to build a wider narrative around the person or concept he is photographing. JJ has a particularly strong eye for colour and is unafraid to experiment within his work. Bold tones, unconventional compositions and expressive styling frequently form part of his visual language, allowing his portfolio to feel contemporary while maintaining a recognisable identity of its own. His imagery moves between editorial fashion, portraiture and more conceptual work, with each project giving him the opportunity to explore a different aspect of his creative approach.
People and individuality remain an important part of JJ’s practice. As Senior Photographer at Noemi James Management, JJ plays an important role in shaping the agency’s photographic output and developing the portfolios of its emerging talent. His understanding of fashion photography allows him to consider both the creative strength of an image and its purpose within a model’s wider portfolio. Working closely with models throughout their development has also strengthened his ability to direct talent on set, recognise what works for different individuals and adapt his photographic approach accordingly.
His position within the agency allows JJ to work across photography, model development and creative collaboration, bringing his own visual perspective to shoots while working alongside the wider Noemi James team. He understands the importance of creating imagery that feels distinctive without losing sight of the model, making his work particularly valuable when developing new faces and establishing their visual identity.
Alongside his work with Noemi James, JJ continues to develop his independent photographic practice while studying at Nottingham Trent University. His university work provides a space for experimentation and exploration, allowing him to continually challenge his approach to fashion imagery and further refine his creative identity.
